Buttermilk Story
Boris Buttermilk woke early as his first trip scheduled for today was 06:30. He was used to rise early and didn’t mind. On his way to the bus he went over the schedule and instructions Stan Butler had written for him, wait for the kids and the Professor! So he looked at Olive note, the school kids use the bus to go to the school and can be little late, please wait for them, they should be 9 in all. That’s so nice of them to wait, no wonder they are never on schedule and he chuckled. Hope they have a nice holiday he thought. When he came to the bus stop there were few kids already waiting one had a note that Rhianna wouldn’t be on the bus today. Still he had to wait for the last one and was about to go anyway when he saw her running to the bus. Not even made the first stop and already 10 minutes late, he thought. It was a half an hour drive to the next village and there few more kids came in, and in the town all the kids went out, now the bus was half empty and his mind started to wander to his Flora as he headed to the city. He knew that she was tired of him being away most of the time, the uncertainty of what he would be doing the following month and the moving around. He was saving up for their own place but everything was so expensiveL
That evening after his last trip he walked around MV looking for a place to get some dinner and it surprised him all the activities there, sure there had been many tourist he had transported to and from today he hadn’t realized what a wonderful place this was! Everyone seemed so happy, friendly and relaxed, so different to what he was used to. The following week he fell more and more in love with the place and dreaded the day the Butlers would return from their holyday and he would have to go to the city, even though he looked forward to see his Flora, Otto and little Carlo, they would love to come here for a holiday he thought. When ever that is now that they were expecting twins, the news still hadn’t sunk completely in. They were happy but also anxious in how this would go.
The days went quickly by and before he knew it, it was his last night. He decided to walk around once more and he found himself on the square in front of the Real Estate Agency. Ryan Forrester came out, he was very friendly and they started to talk about MV and all the opportunities the village had and all the changes it had and was going through. Boris realizes that maybe this could be the solution he had been waiting for, and his mind went on full speed and with new interest asked Ryan what houses were available and the prizes. The next day when he arrived in the city and before going home he went to the Bus company headquarters and talked to the bosses there. Then he made some calls back to MV. The next day he was waiting for Stan to bring him some papers and brought them home. After the boys were in bed he asked Flora to sit down with him. He told her about MV, and then he showed her a photo of a small cottage and said that this could be theirs. What about work she asked, MV already has bus drivers and sure a village this size didn’t need more? Boris then told her that he had been very busy for the last two days and not only found them a cottage but had talked to the bus company and convinced them that they needed someone in MV to sell tickets and give information’s, that would help to keep the bus on time. Then he had talked to Bill Waddlington that was the mayor in MV and he could get a contract to pick up the school kids in the morning and drive them home in the afternoon. Then he was thinking if they could make and run a little sale booth where the Bus stops. The tourists that were going to either towns and were not stopping in MV could quickly get some refreshment and they would have a place for the bus ticket sale. Then he could fill in for the Butlers when needed. When all this would be added together, they should be able to make a living? Flora loved the idea but wanted to look at the place first. It only took one visit for her to fall in love with the place and Boris could buy a cozy cottage for his Flora, something he had dreamed about for years. Flora was so happy to finally have a place she could turn into a nest for her, Boris and their kids.
